My Festival & Event Display

Just wanted to share with you my display I use for the different festivals and events in my area. Not everyone is going to be able to do this, because they can't afford it, but if you can, it is surprising how effective it is! It has boosted my revenue three fold!

If you have any questions, leave a comment on this post and I promise to answer it the best way possible!

Thanks for watching!

First Dubstep Event

Had a really great time at the Mtn Dub event at the Galaxy lounge in Johnson City, TN. I had a team of face painters there to help me out. April Garland is new to face painting, but shows great promise in being one of the top face painters in the area. Katherine Thrower is a great artist and she put some work out there that wowed us! I was very grateful to have them working along side me!

I also met Tiffany and Jaimie from Bass Kitten Productions and we are getting together soon to do a Promotional Photoshoot for their new business!

Here are a few photos from the event last night!

2 Unknown Inspirations

My friend Amy Sage Christensen gave me 2 quotes that I find very inspirational:

We all face tough challenges from time to time but remember that it isn’t the challenge or difficulty that will drag you down, it is the way you deal with it that will cause grief or triumph.
If you will call your troubles experiences, and remember that every experience develops some latent force within you, you will grow vigorous and happy, however adverse your circumstances may seem to be.
You can't change the direction of the wind, but you can adjust the sails to always reach your destination. ~Unknown

Sometimes we get so focused on ourselves that we fail to listen to those around us.
We get tunnel vision and only see what we want to see.
There are times when we just need to stop and listen, there is great value in hearing what others have to say.
You don't have to agree, just listen; you will be a better person for it and people will put more value to what you have to say when it is your turn to speak.  ~Unknown

ECFPC 2012

Another first in my life was being able to attend the East Coast Face Painting Convention 2012. It was held in Manchester, CT at the Baymont Inn & Suites and was one of the most comfortable and relaxing conventions I have been too (out of 4). The people were great and they accepted me, even though I was a little eccentric with my tutu and bra, but in all were fabulous and I learned a lot from all. I had the chance to reconnect with artists I have not seen in a while and made new lasting relationships with others I only talk to on Facebook.

So you don't have to go through over 200 photos, I have put together a slideshow of some of what was done at the convention! I hope you enjoy and if you are going to Kapital Kidvention this year, I will see you there! I really hope this inspires you!

Here are a few photos of stuff i did after the convention before taking off back home:

Mother & Son Paintings

I know a lot of people are question the professionalism of body painting a child, but when it is a bonding between Mother & Son, is it so bad?

I have done 2 of these shoots so far and both have been very professional. I require that they wear minimal coverage so that the paintings come out good and you will see what I mean in the photos below. In fact, I am the one who paints the mother and asks that she helps me paint her son, so that there is a bond and interaction between the two.

There is a very fine line between what is right and wrong in this but I walk right on the edge and manage to deliver wonderful photos of beautiful art! Discretion needs to be used when doing this type of painting and not everyone is going to agree with it, but that is life.

They were all happy with what I did and walked away with smiles so big, it melts your heart!

Reflection

Art is a personal reflection of an individuals feelings. Your work will not be up to par if you do not put a smile on your face and change your attitude to reflect.

Inspiration Comes In Many Forms!

I know this is probably NOT what you were thinking for a NEW blog from me, but since I have been told in the past few months, that I am an inspiration to some people. So as to keep up a positive image, I have created this blog.

I will have different positive quotes and photos from different gigs and shoots I have that I hope will inspire you to be more creative.

This will not be a daily blog last last year, but will be only when I have something positive to say or post.
